Student Voice: The Impact on EcoSchools

The Board has a number of programs in place in our schools and workplaces to model environmental sustainability, including:
  • Litterless or boomerang lunch programs
  • Water bottle refilling stations to reduce the use of water bottles
  • A tracking program which measures and evaluates electrical demand and consumption in ‘real-time’ so schools can track their energy use
  • Waste reduction programs, including vermicomposting

The Board believes that all learners, leaders and community members have a shared responsibility for minimizing their impact on the environment and for taking an active role in protecting it. Modelling continuous environmental sustainability is the one of the goals outlined in the Board of Trustee's Multi-Year Plan
