The York Region District School Board is proud to offer students the opportunity to earn the IB Diploma in addition to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Bayview Secondary School has been a member of the IB World School Community since 2003. We are very pleased to announce that the following IB Candidate Schools will be joining the family of IB Schools in York Region in 2017 and they are working toward authorization to offer Grade 11 students the IB Programme in September 2018:

The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right

“Education is an act of hope in the face of an always-uncertain future. An IB education calls forth the very best in students and educators alike. The IB believes that together we can help to prepare students for living and working in a complex, highly interconnected world” (What is an IB Education?)
