Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Page Content Who is Eligible?
Students age 14 to 18, entering Grade 9 to 12
New international secondary students attending YRDSB secondary schools beginning the September semester
Short-term international student visitors
Current YRDSB international students (may only participate in ONE summer credit program offered by YRDSB)
International students attending non-YRDSB secondary school (private/public school)
Students must be able to begin on the first day of class, and attend full-time for the entire duration of the program
Registrations must be received before May 31st to secure their place in the program and accommodation. Registrations after this date will be subject to availability.

- Submit the documents listed in Step 1, along with the full payment to:

- Payment can be made in one of the following ways:
- Within Canada, payment by money order, bank draft or certified cheque payable to York Region District School Board
- Outside of Canada, payment by electronic wire transfer must be made via the WU® GlobalPay for Students payments platform. This approved and reliable service allows you to pay in local currency ensuring payments will be received on time and in full.
Step 3
- Once York Region District School Board has received all documents and full payment, a Letter of Acceptance and Receipt of payment will be issued to the parent/custodian/agency.
Step 4
- Once required travel documents have been received, and airline flights are confirmed, complete and return the Arrival Confirmation Form to the Admissions Office by email: admissions@yrdsb.ca
Step 5
- Arrive at school on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. for documentation verification.
