World Classroom
This program is only available to school groups. A minimum of 15 students plus one adult chaperone is required to participate in this program. 
 
A deposit of C$300 per person is required four months prior to the program start date to secure the space. Full payment and completed registration package must be submitted two months prior to the program start date.
 
A completed application plus the photo page of the passport is required for each student (PDF format).
Step 1
  • Complete the World Classroom Program application form for each student specifying the requested program start and end dates. Include a details list of participant details, including a chaperone agreement.
  • Provide the following documentation with each application:
    • photocopy of the passport
    • photocopy of the u​p-to-date immunization record in English. English translation must be notarized.
Step 2
  • Submit completed application forms to the Admissions Office at the following location:

  • Payment can be made by one of two ways:
    1. money order, bank draft or certified cheque payable to York Region District School Board
    2. wire transfer with an additional C$40 surcharge. Banking information can be requested from the Admissions Office (admissions@yrdsb.ca).
  • Once payment has been made forward a copy of the bank wire transfer remittance form to the Admissions Office (admissions@yrdsb.ca).
Step 3
  • York Region District School Board will issue a group letter of acceptance and receipt of payment once full payment and completed application packages have been received. 
Step 4
  • Upon receipt of the required travel documents, make arrangements to arrive in Canada on a date mutually agreed to by YRDSB staff. When flights are confirmed, complete and forward the Arrival Confirmation form to the Admissions Office (admissions@yrdsb.ca).
Step 5
  • Arrive at the designated location to await pick up by host's family.
