Secondary Students
  • Students are required to arrive prior to the the commencement date of the program indicated on the Letter of Acceptance. ​
  • All new secondary school students are required to attend orientation which begins two weeks prior to the first day of school. Detailed information regarding orientation will be forwarded to you prior to your arrival.
  • NOTE: If YRDSB has been named custodian and YRDSB homestay arranged, the earliest homestay move-in date for each new semester is:  August 15 (September semester) OR January 15 (February semester).​
  • Please bring the following documents with you on the document verification day specified in the orientation schedule.
    • Original Letter of Acceptance
    • Photocopy of your passport with your Study Permit
    • Education Services Agreement, if applicable (Parents, the Custodian who fulfils the role of Education Designate and the student are required to sign and submit the Education Services Agreement)
    • The most UPDATED school report cards/transcripts will be required by your school on school registration day.
 
Assessment of English and Math skills as well as school registration for secondary students will be arranged during orientation.

The medical Insurance card and policy will be provided during the Orientation Program.
Elementary Students
  • The custodian or parent must make an appointment for an assessment at the YRDSB Reception Centre (905-479-0546) very soon after the arrival date is confirmed. The Custodian who fulfils the role of Education Designate and/or parents must be present together with the student at the appointment. The assessment will take approximately three hours. 
  • Once the assessment is complete, schedule an appointment with the school to complete the registration process.
  • Please bring the following documents to the Reception Centre:
    • Your passport with your Study Permit
    • Original Letter of Acceptance
    • Proof of address in York Region
    • The most UPDATED school report cards/transcripts (The original submitted with your application has been forwarded to the school)
    • Education Services Agreement, if applicable signed by the parents, custodian and student
The medical insurance card and policy will be delivered to the school during the first week of school.​
