All York Region District School Board Elementary and Secondary schools have been provided affiliation with Skills Canada-Ontario for the 2019-2020 school year.  This affiliation provides all schools with access to Skills Canada-Ontario’s many resources, activities and opportunities.

SHSM & Skills Ontario Events

  • Secondary students enrolled in the Specialist High Skills Major Program (SHSM) can earn possible certificates and/or experiential learnin​g towards their SHS​​M designation.  Speak to your school SHSM team for further information and further information can be provided in the SHSM-Skills Chart​ on resources page. 

​Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) Challenges

  • Future Building is an annual event designed to introduce young career seekers in grades 7-12, aboriginal youth, youth at risk and adults in career transition to the building and construction industry. This unique three-day career exposition provides attendees with an interactive, hands-on experience using a variety of tools and techniques across many of the skilled construction trades.
