York Region District School Board through its International Education Services department is enriched by providing opportunities to live and learn with students from around the world. Our schools foster excellence, celebrate diversity, promote individual competence and champion quality education.
Students from every continent are learning in our schools.
York Region students and teachers are encouraged to develop a global focus by receiving international students into their classrooms and by taking advantage of the many opportunities to study outside Canada.
Academic programs are available for students entering JK to Grade 12. International students must demonstrate a minimum academic average of 65% for admission and must maintain this minimum average during their course of study.
We look forward to welcoming, in person, our international students for the upcoming school year.

Planning for the 2024-2025 School Year
At this time, we are focused on welcoming new international students to the September 2024 semester and supporting existing students in their educational goals.
What you must do before coming to Canada
Before leaving for Canada, please refer to the Immigration, Refugee & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) travel directive.
We encourage you to make travel plans only when your child has met the travel conditions outlined by IRCC. All travelers entering Canada must follow the travel guidelines established by the Government of Canada.
