Kindergarten Registration
York Region District School Board welcomes you and your child to our schools. We are proud to be one of Ontario’s top achieving school districts and to provide quality educational programs for all our students.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2019-20 school year will begin on January 18, 2019.

We are pleased to expand the online Kindergarten registration pilot this year to 77 elementary schools.  Check our list of participating schools before beginning the online registration process. Online registration at participating schools is optional. Families can continue to register in person.

If your child will not be attending one of these pilot schools, please register for Kindergarten in person at your school with the required information and documentation outlined below. We will continue to expand online Kindergarten registration to more schools in future years.

The Kindergarten Parent/Guardian Questionnaire allows you to provide your school with specific information to support the transition to school.  Your child’s Kindergarten educators will use the information you share to help to create an inclusive and welcoming transition to Kindergarten for your child.  We appreciate all information that you are able to provide.

The Ministry EYE@K Questionnaire (Early Years Experiences at Kindergarten) will be offered to all families registering their child to Kindergarten for the first time.  Answering the questions is voluntary.  Responses gathered will help Regional planning tables coordinate and improve the programs and services for families and young children in the community.  The Ministry has provided the survey in nine additional languages.
