Step 1: Identify your home school

Home schools are determined by your home address and school boundaries. You may be eligible to attend an alternate school through the transfer process initiated through your home school. Decisions regarding transfers are at the discretion of the Principal and Superintendent, based on availability of programs and accommodations. Transportation for transfer students is the responsibility of the parents.  For more information about transfers see Policy 108 Student Accommodation Attendance Areas Student Transfers.

Step 2: Contact your home school and set up a registration appointment

Expect to spend up to 1 hour at the school for registration. Please note that late August and early September are extremely busy times for registration and wait times and appointments may take longer. Be sure to ask your school any questions regarding information and supporting documents required for registration.

Additional information about more specific situations is available in the School Admissions Policy and Procedure or through your home school.

Step 4: Attend your appointment

At your appointment, your home school will help you identify any special programs that may be suitable to your child and will help facilitate the registration process. Students registering for secondary schools will select their courses online. Information about this process will be provided at the time of your appointment and is also available on school websites under Guidance.
