Fiction sections of libraries are typically made up of novels, short stories, graphic novels and picture books.
The books are organized alphabetically by the LAST NAME OF THE AUTHOR on the shelves.
On the book spine, you will see a label with an 'F' followed just below it by three letters. Those are the three first letters of the author's last name (ex. F ATW means Fiction, Atwood)
In the Bayview Secondary School library, the fiction is located on the MAIN FLOOR. The 'A' section starts at the bookcase closest to the computers and moves across the room to 'Z'. Against the wall, you will find ELL appropriate reads and picture books. Graphic novels are on the grey cart near the windows.
If you can't find what you are looking for, you can search the online catalogue or ask one of the library staff for help.
We also welcome requests from students for fiction to include in the library! We can't promise we will get everything, but if there is enough interest, we'll do our best to add the requests into the collection.
