Coppard Glen is a Healthy School.  The School Food and Beverage policy (PPM 150) has been introduced to ensure that healthy food and beverages are sold in schools. 

The policy includes new nutrition standards.  The nutrition standards are based on principles of healthy eating outlined in Canada’s Food Guide.  Research has shown that children who eat a healthy diet are more attentive, more ready to learn and more likely to be successful in school.

The policy applies to food and beverages sold in all venues on school property, such as cafeterias, vending machines and tuck shops; through all programs, including catered lunch programs, and at all events on school property, including bake sales and sports events.

In addition to making healthy changes to food and beverages sold in our school, we can use this opportunity to ensure that the food and beverages we offer in our school at no cost (e.g. classroom celebrations) are also healthy.  We ask for your support as we work to improve the nutrition environment at our school and throughout the school community.  Please remember that we are a nut free school and all food items that come into the school MUST be nut free.
