Online e-Learning Night School - Summer School Credit Courses 206
Online e-Learning Night School - Summer School Credit Courses
Although most secondary school students will obtain credits towards the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) by enrolling in the courses offered in their secondary school day program, there are alternative ways to earn the required credits if they have fewer than 4 courses on their day school schedule. Some of the options offered by the Board through Community and International Education Services (CIES), include:

Online e Learning Night School credit courses

Online e Learning Summer School credit courses

Online learning is available as an alternative to night school and summer school to registered York Region District School Board students if they have fewer than 4 courses in their semester.  These students are provided with a 'flexible approach' to learning, as this method allows for self-paced study within a structured environment (students should have between 8 to 10 hours a week available to meet the course requirements during night school and between 8 to 10 hours per a day for the summer school - July option).  There is a fixed start and end date for each option.

Registration occurs in early September for Semester 1 courses; in December/ January for Semester 2 courses; and early May for Summer (July) options and requires Guidance counsellor involvement.  A registration fee of $20 is also required.  Students are encouraged to acknowledge the Student Profile and review the registration details and meet with their Guidance Counsellor before they consider themselves as an e Learning candidate.
