Character Community Week - October 24-29
This week, schools, organizations, businesses, families and individuals across York Region are taking part in Character Community Week. They are helping to make York Region a true Character Community that embodies the character attributes identified by York Region residents.

Random Acts of Character is this year’s Character Community Week theme.  Schools and departments are encouraged to share and acknowledge random acts of character using the hashtag #CCWeek16.

There are lots of ways you can get involved at home, at school and in your community:

·       Visit the Character Community Week website for ideas and resources to help you get involved.
·       Find out how you can become involved with character development in schools – either as a parent, student or community member -by visiting the Board website.
·       Engage in positive character development - Attribute of the month.
·       Understand what Equity and Inclusive Education means to the York Region District School Board.
·       Talk to your family members about character, and what it means to you.

In the York Region District School Board, character development is embedded and recognized in our classrooms, extra-curricular activities and school-wide programs through Character Matters in support of student achievement.
