GRADE 12 GRADUATE STUDENTS

NEW this year: If you applied to an Ontario university, but did not receive any offers of admission by June TBC, then you can add programs after this date at no additional charge.

New applicants and applicants who received an offer/offers will still incur the additional choice fee ($50 per choice).  This is available from June TBC – August TBC, 2020



MOBYSS - Youth Walk-in Clinic

"Services are free for youth between the ages of 12-25.  Includes health care from a Nurse Practitioner, specialized youth mental health worker, and peer support specialist.  Confidential medical, sexual and mental health services."

1.  Eligibility criteria:

  • Students who need this credit to to graduate (see a Guidance Counsellor)​
  • SHSM and OYAP students 
  • Currently in Grade 11 or 12
2.  Registration

  • Obtain your completed application (GAPPS email), fill in the college application and return both signed copies to the Guidance Office.

Community Involvement Activities/Volunteer Hours
  • Volunteer Forms are located in the Guidance Office.
  • Please have the form appoved by the Guidance Office prior to volunteering.
  • 40 hours are must be submitted to the Guidance Office in order to graduate.
  • Only Non for Profit Organizations are elegible.
  • ​Approved Volunteer Opportunities are posted on the bulletin board that is located outside of the Guidance Office.

 

"Golden Student of the Month" Nominations

The "Golden Student of the Month" is selected by nomination.  It is to honor students who volunteer within our community for non-for-profit organizations.  This award is sponsored by McDonalds Canada (28 Sandiford Dr., Stouffville).
Nomination forms are available in the Guidance Office.  Please submit completed forms to the Guidance Office.



Private School Courses

  • Please ask the Private School to mail your official report cards (school seal and Principal's Signature) to: Stouffivlle District Secondary School - Guidance Office.
  • Marks will be input into your transcript upon reciept.

Timetable Change

 ​Obtain a Timetable Change Form in the Guidance Office

  • All forms must be completed, signed by the student's parent/guardian and submitted by the first Friday of the Semester.
  • Students will be called by the Guidance Office to confirm the change and provide them with a new timetable.
  • If the courses are full the student will be placed on a waiting list.
  • All Students must continue to go to all of their classes until they obtain a new timetable from the Guidance Office.

  • Retakes will be taken on TBC 2019 in the location TBC

College Fair - SDSS (Grade 11 Students)

On TBC, there will be an assembly during period 5 for all grade 11 students.  We have six colleges who will be in attendance, along with York Works, a rep. from YRDSB who will discuss Dual Credits and the Royal Military College.  This is a fantastic opportunity for students to learn valuable information and ask questions that will help them make the right decisions in their grade 12 year.  There are some great opportunities/programs in colleges today and we hope that this will allow them to start exploring.

We will be hosting a college/university fair at SDSS.  Students from any grade and their parents are welcome to join us.

Attached is a promotional flyer and a handout with sample questions that students might use to ask the representatives attending.  It’s always a good idea to come prepared with questions.

Ontario Science Centre School

Earn grade 12 math and science credits and get the experience of a lifetime.  

Selection is based on your written application, academic record and recommendations from two teachers, one of whom must be a science or mathematics teacher.  Up to 30 students are selected from across Ontario for each semester.
