Student Tutor Program
The student
tutor program will occur shortly after the start up of school. The actual
meeting for all interested applicants
will be announced in September. Following the meeting, tutors will be contacted
by counsellors. If you are inclined, you may tutor more than one person.
In order
for you to become a tutor , please do the following:
1.
Print
a copy of the Tutor Information Sheet.
2.
Complete
the application form and submit it into the tutor envelope located in the
guidance office. For the subject(s) you wish to be a tutor in, make sure you
are recommended by a teacher who has taught you in that subject.
3.
Attend
the tutor meeting (TBA).
4.
Tutors
may consider two options:
a) Receive community service hours
b) Payment. Students can determine how
much they wish to be paid per hour.
Consult
with a guidance counsellor what hourly rate is appropriate.
If you miss
the meeting you may still become a
tutor. However you must meet with a guidance counsellor before you will receive
any clients.
All TSS
Guidance counsellors draw from the list of available tutors. There is no
guaranty that you will be contacted to help out a student right away. Many
students like to tutor English and Math. If you can tutor in subjects such as
Chemistry, Physics, Biology, French and Computer Science, we will be in high
demand for you as well.
Good Luck
