Let’s Raise the Flag for World Autism Awareness Day!
April 2nd, 2020 marks the 13th anniversary of the very first World Autism Awareness Day. In 2007 this date was declared by the United Nations General Assembly, in order to bring the world’s attention to Autism, a spectrum disorder that affects tens of millions globally.
On October 23, 2012, a World Autism Awareness Day bill was passed by members of the House of Commons in Canada which officially recognizes April 2nd as World Autism Awareness Day in Canada.
The York Region District School Board will be celebrating World Autism Awareness Day on Thursday, April 2nd, 2020.
