Notes on Translation
The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
The York Region District School Board does not guarantee the quality, accuracy or completeness of any translated information. Before you act on translated information, the Board encourages you to confirm any facts that are important to you and affect any decisions you may make.
The York Region District School Board is committed to parent, family and community engagement, and it is our hope that by providing this tool on our website that we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English and thereby enabling better engagement in public education.

Welcome to Ashton Meadows Public School!
History: Ashton Meadows Public School is named after the beautiful Ashton Meadows Park, located to the west of the school. Our school mascot is the majestic Falcon, known for its power and speed. Ashton Meadows P.S. was officially opened in 1997. Prior to being named, the school was known as "Buttonville-North” in honour of its location and in reference to the holding school, Buttonville P.S.
Our school motto is CHARACTER, LITERACY, LEADERSHIP & COMMUNITY and we endeavour to live by the Golden Rule, Treat Others The Way You Wish To Be Treated.
Our school mascot is the FALCON. Go Falcons Go!
Facilities:
At Ashton Meadows Public School, students enjoy a well-equipped school, complete with gymnasium, library, music room, science lab and other classroom facilities. A full-day, as well as before and after school, child-care centre is located on site, owned and operated by Upper Canada Child Care . The centre staff work closely with teachers, parents and administration to support students attending the school, and the day care is an integral part of Ashton’s student involvement/leadership plan. Ashton is also a partner with Children’s Breakfast Clubs – enabling communities to provide nurturing care and social/educational stimulation for school-age children while serving nutritious breakfast meals.
