Michael S. Petinarelis - Department Head 

"Mr. P" was licensed to teach in Ontario in 2000.  He graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a three-year Concurrent Bachelor of Education.  In 2003, he completed a Masters of Education focused on Native and Environmental Education.  He came to Aurora High School in 2007 and has been actively involved in coaching the tennis team, heading up the Indigenous Studies Club and assisting at-risk students with the OSSLT as the school's Literacy Teacher.

Kandice Cross - Environmental Specialist 

Mrs. Cross studied Geography and History at the University of Western Ontario and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in 2005.  She went on to earn a Bachelor of Education from Trent University and an Honour Specialist from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto.  During her time at Aurora High School, Mrs. Cross has been an active coach for the Swim Team, Boy’s Baseball Team and the Ultimate Frisbee Team. She has also been a teacher advisor to the Students Helping Students Club and the Social Justice Club.

Andre Laville - French Immersion Specialist

M. Laville studied political science and geography at York University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 2004.  In 2005, he completed his Bachelor of Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, as well as an additional qualification in French.  M. Laville started working at Aurora High School in 2005, and has been teaching geography, history, French, and business courses, primarily to immersion students.  During his tenure at Aurora, he has worked with the Student Council, and currently coaches the golf team.

Mary Traikos - Senior Geography Specialist

Ms. Traikos was licensed to teach in Ontario in 1999.  She graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor of Education (three year Concurrent Program).  Ms. Traikos has worked at Aurora High School since 1999, primarily in the Geography Department.  She has been involved in a variety of school events and has sat on a number of committees including:  Assessment & Evaluation and Caring Adult.  In her spare time, Ms. Traikos enjoys reading and attending live music events.
