Building Self-Sufficient Athletes...

Strength and conditioning programming at BCSS is designed to provide student athletes with opportunities to understand, develop, and improve upon all aspects of physical training on the road to becoming a self sufficient athlete.
 
These opportunities exist through physical education courses that incorporate regular strength and conditioning programming, team or club training sessions that take place before and after school, and regular weekly drop-in training opportunities for students.  In these settings, students are guided by teachers, coaches, and experienced​ peers while learning about functional and sport-specific applications of strength and conditioning drills and exercises.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

BCSS offers a variety of training spaces and state-of-the-art training equipment for student athletes interested in exploring strength and conditioning programming options.  All students are encouraged to connect with our strength and conditioning coordinator, Mr. Virgo to learn more about these opportunities.

Stronger BCSS Online 

Stronger BCSS is a website that has been created to share strength and conditioning resources such as training programs, drop-in training schedules, sign-up program schedules, Smarter Athletes presentations, and more. Students, parents, and coaches can also visit the site to take a virtual tour of our fitness facilities, read the Stronger BCSS blog, or download a strength and conditioning program request form that can be submitted to our athletic department. Strength and Conditioning Coordinator 

All students at BCSS have the opportunity to work with our Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, Derek Virgo. Mr. Virgo works in an extra-curricular capacity with school teams and clubs, organizes drop-in and sign-up strength and conditioning sessions, and also works with our fitness-based HPE classes. Students seeking individualized assistance with strength and conditioning programming can complete a request to work with Mr. Virgo, which is available through the BCSS Strength and Conditioning Website
