Students supported by the Student Services Department:
- have been identified through a formal Identification Placement Review Committee meeting (IPRC); or
- are in the process of having assessments completed based on the decision of an In-School Team Meeting (ISTM)
Students are supported by a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT). The role of the SERT is to:
- Guide student in understanding their identification
- Help students communicate and advocate for accommodations
- Create and update Individual Education Plan (IEP)
- Communicate information to students, parents and teachers
- Monitor student’s progress in all classes
- Support with pathways and course selection
- Support with well-being
