The Student Success Teacher and Student Success School Team plays a vital role in supporting the success of all students in a secondary school.

     Student Advocacy/ Mentorship

● works directly with students who have academic, literacy, numeracy and social-emotional challenges

● meets regularly with the student as determined by need for support

● communicates as needed with the parents/guardians of the student being serviced

● tracks student marks, assignments, due dates, attendance and attitudes

● engages in regular dialogue with teachers, Administration and the Student Success School Team

     Transition Support

● supports transition from grade 8 to 9 and from high school to post-secondary school choices

● collaborates with elementary and secondary colleagues to build Transition Programs

     Monitoring of Students

● School Student Success Team includes: Guidance, ESL, Alternative Education, Special Education, Co-operative Education, Literacy           and the Administration

● The Student Success Team collaborates with all departments to monitor such areas as:

- progress in courses

- failures

- timetabling

- services provided

- follow up strategies
