In order to support the Board's mission, the mission of Henderson Avenue P.S. is as follows: Henderson Avenue Public School is committed to the partnership involving children, their families and the school staff in the educational process to develop the literacy, numeracy and personal skills necessary for success. Together, we will promote positive self-esteem, risk taking, respect, responsibility and accountability in a safe and secure environment.

We believe that our programs must respect individual differences, potentials, learning styles, and the multiplicity of cultures within our community.
We believe that literacy; numeracy and personal development skills are essential for success.
We believe that the responsibility of educating a child must be shared by the child, the family, the school staff and the community.
We believe that in order for students to take risks necessary to learn, the learning environment must be safe and supportive.
We believe that respect for self, others, the community and the environment must be promoted and demonstrated, and;
We believe individuals must assume responsibility and are accountable for their actions.
