Welcome to Holland Landing Public School. Our school team consists of dedicated teachers, educational assistants, office staff, and caretaking staff who work together with students, families, and community members as partners in education. Building relationships is essential to the work that we do. We strive to build trusting relationships based on respectful and responsive communication. We are fortunate to have an active school council, who support our school planning, as well as provide opportunities for families to connect and engage in school life with their children and community.
The work we do together at HLPS is grounded in our School Improvement Plan. Currently, we have a focus on equity and inclusive education. As a staff, we are working towards creating safer, inclusive spaces within our school environment so that all students, staff, families, and community members feel that they matter and belong. We are continuing to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to remove barriers in support of all students in Mathematics, Mental Health and Well-Being, Modern Learning, Indigenous Education and Equity. We have high expectations for ourselves, our staff, and our students.
Our students' sense of belonging is enhanced by a variety of curricular, leadership, and extra-curricular activities. Students have many opportunities to participate in clubs, teams, and groups, thanks to the dedication and commitment of our wonderful staff and volunteers. As a school, we a proud to recognize our students' efforts and accomplishments at our monthly "Hurricane of the Month" assembly. This is a great time for our school to gather together to celebrate and appreciate our students.
