School Council

 

Education is a partnership involving parents, students, teachers, principals, community and school boards.

School councils provide advice on school matters and help to strengthen the important relationship between schools, parents/guardians and their communities.

All members of the school community are welcome to attend council meetings. Parents/guardians and community members are key to a successful school council. Getting involved gives you the opportunity to be part of a team working to ensure a high quality of education. School councils are supported in their work through various resources available online or through the school administrator. 

This is just one way families can get involved to support students and schools. Learn about other things you can do to engage with your child’s learning at home and at school.

​​Our Jersey School Council

 
 
Our overall goal is to act as an advisory body for the school administration. A significant role of a council member is to serve as an ambassador, dedicated to promoting our students, staff, school and the entire school community in a positive manner. As a member of the school community, your voice is so important to promote the positives, and at the same time, bring input from the broader school community into the the school. These interactions are necessary to implement change, and make appropriate school decisions in the interest of our students. 

 
We, the council, would like to invite you to come to a meeting and see what we are all about. Even if you only attend one meeting, we would love to meet you and hear what you have to say about the Jersey school community!

 
Regular meetings of the Jersey School Council are scheduled in advance, usually on a monthy basis. Please see the school newsletter, the calendar​ on our school website, or ask in the office if you would like to know when our next meeting is. 

 
On behalf of this council, we appreciate your time and interest in helping to make Jersey Public School a vibrant, inclusive, and caring learing institution.
