History MacLeod’s Landing P. S. and the surrounding community are named as a tribute to Captain Martin Donald MacLeod. Captain MacLeod emigrated from Scotland and settled in the area in 1862. He was awarded a large parcel of land, on which the school is located, as a reward for his distinguished military service in both Scotland and Upper Canada. The school’s name reflects the rich cultural heritage of the area and the cultural diversity that is embraced by community today.
Our school mascot is the Maverick, an indicator of the fierce adventurous spirit of the community members and their ancestors.
Facilities MacLeod’s Landing P. S. opened its doors to the community’s children on September 6th, 2006. The Official School Opening Ceremony took place on November 9th of that same year.
