Dear Families of Micheal Cranny Elementary School:
Welcome to another exciting year at Michael Cranny Elementary School!
On behalf of the entire MCES community, I want to welcome you.
At Michael Cranny Elementary School,
we are strongly committed to providing a challenging and engaging
learning environment focused on student achievement and
well-being. We are strongly committed to ensuring we have a
welcoming, safe and inclusive learning environment for all our students. We will continue
to ensure that a positive climate for learning remains at the forefront of
all that we do, as this is the foundation of a strong learning environment.
We continue to strive to
create a community of learners and thinkers together. We
believe that it is important for our students to develop strong critical
thinking skills, as well as the skills of collaboration,
communication and reflection. We are working to develop a community of
thinkers who understand that it is important to be open-minded, respectful of
others' ideas and opinions and to be able to provide strong
evidence to support responses and decisions. In addition, we will
continue our work in the areas of literacy and mathematics working with our students to
develop their knowledge and skills. We have placed a specific focus
on problem-solving in mathematics. We aim to provide a challenging
and engaging learning environment focused on student achievement and
well-being. Student Leadership along with a focus on Mental Health and Well-Being, Literacy, Math, 2SLGTBQ+ and Dismantling Anti-Black Racism will be at the forefront of all we do to ensure that we are respecting and supporting the diversity of all our learners.
We look forward to working with all
of our families throughout the year.
At Michael Cranny Elementary
School, we believe in a strong partnership between home, school and the
community. We look forward to working with you throughout the year and we
strongly encourage you to contact your children'steachers or the
administration should you have any questions or concerns.
At MCES, everyone matters and everyone belongs: Be Kind!
Yours in Education,
Ms. A. Bruno
