The ESL department is committed to the well being and language development of Multilingual Language Learners (MLLs). We believe that through providing close-knit, caring, and comfortable learning environment, barriers would be broken; students from completely different cultures and countries would unite and bond to achieve one common goal - to become fluent in English! They would blossom and transition into the mainstream curriculum. The job is not easy, but they are eager to put in 110% of their effort as they are well motivated by the teachers in the ESL department. This program not only teaches students how to communicate effectively, but they also learn how to think critically about the world around them all in their second language of English.
Our department's MLL Lunch Club offers students exciting opportunities to participate in the following:
- First Language Peer-Tutoring
- Peer-Led Inclusion/Community Building Activities
- Guest Speakers on Topics of Interest
- Multicultural Celebrations
- English Conversation Practice
- Festive Holiday Themed Activities
