from the Admin Team
Welcome
students and families to Oscar Peterson Public School in the heart of
Whitchurch-Stouffville. We are
so honoured to be the administrative team at Oscar Peterson and we look forward to getting to
know all of the wonderful families that make up our school community. Ours is a
diverse community and at Oscar Peterson, we embrace our diversity as it makes
us who we are. We treat everyone equitably and with respect. We value strong relationships
between our students, parents, school staff and community members. Together we
will work to create a community of learners in a safe, inclusive and supportive
environment.
We
have a dedicated staff where the best interests and well-being of our students are
paramount. Oscar Peterson, named after the legendary Canadian musician thrives
on opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in all
areas of the curriculum as well the arts and athletics. At Oscar Peterson, we
understand that parents, grandparents and guardians are children’s first
teachers. We work together as a team in the education journey of each and
every child to support families and include them in school life. Parents
support our school community in many ways. Our School Council is very active
and supports our school through volunteering and fundraising.
We would also like to extend a warm
greeting to all new students and their families, especially to all the
kindergarten students who will begin attending full time. We are sure that
you will be made to feel welcome, and we look forward to meeting you as the
year progresses. We partner with YMCA Daycare who shares our facilities. They
offer care for ages 4-12 as well as a before & after school program. If you
are interested in learning more about the YMCA Daycare, please call them

While this year will be far
different than any other, we look forward to working together and supporting
one another in our continued partnership.
