As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Parkview P.S. support student learning through the curriculum standards set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education and many other co-curricular activities.
Parkview is also well known for our school focus, "The 3 A's"; Academics, the Arts and Athletics. At Parkview we value a well-rounded approach to educating children. Students are enriched through their participation in a wide range of activities that enhance student learning.
Safe and Supportive Schools/Character Education/Equity Education:
Every student has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. The York Region District School Board has a Safe Schools Policy and a defined procedure to implement the policy. Both the policy and procedure support the view that student discipline involves a continuum of support including prevention, intervention and appropriate consequences.
In addition, Parkview P.S. is committed to equity and inclusive education. These beliefs are integrated into the regular programming to create an inclusive school environment that is safe, supportive and respectful to everyone within our school community. Parkview P.S.
is dedicated to student achievement and well being.
As a school we are implementing the Zones of Regulation.
Each of classrooms have been equipped with fidget tools
in order to support our students with
self regulation, focus, attention, calming and active listening. As a school, we will be engage in various initiatives such as Mindful Mondays in order to promote well being amongst our students.
