Ramer Wood P.S. is named after the Ramer family who first settled in the area. They farmed the land surrounding the school. The school is part of a well-established community. The community celebrates its multi-cultural diversity. We have families whose roots span to all corners of the world. The neighboring school is St. Edwards, part of the Catholic school system. We work collaboratively with this school and share a community park (Raybeck Park), play structure and swings, which are owned and operated by the Town of Markham.
Our school motto is “Learning and Growing Together”.
Our school symbol is a tree, symbolizing growth.
Our school team mascot is the Ram. Go! Ramer Wood Rams! Go!
Ramer Wood P.S. was opened in 1986 and you may have noticed a time capsule to be opened in the fall of 2011 (25th anniversary) in our front foyer! A portable extension was added on to the school when it opened and it still remains attached to the school.
