Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register my child (Kindergarten to Grade 8)?
Students currently attending a holding school for a new school do not need to register again. Their information will be transferred to the new school before September 2014.

Students new to the community or registering for Kindergarten for the first time can register with the required documentation at the holding schools.

For more information, please visit www.yrdsb.ca - School Registration.

Will my child be able to remain at his/her current school?
All elementary schools scheduled to open for the 2014-2015 school year will offer Kindergarten to Grade 8 classes, except Robert Munsch P.S. which will offer Kindergarten to Grade 3. Students currently in Grade 7 will have the option of staying at their school. It is expected that all other students currently in holding schools will move to their new school.

Will the new schools have a Before and After School program (B/A program)?
B/A programs for children ages 4-12 years are operated by independent non-profit pre-approved child care agencies. B/A programs will be available at each new school if a need is determined. Surveys are sent to parents of children in the holding schools and posted on the Board website to determine community needs.

When a child care agency has been chosen to operate a B/A program at your new school, registration information will be shared through a school newsletter or the Board website.

Will the new schools offer full day Kindergarten?
All new schools will provide full day Kindergarten. For more information on full day Kindergarten, please visit the Board website.
