History
Sharon Public School is named after the Town of Sharon. Our school motto is "open hearts, open minds, open doors to opportunities". Our school mascot is the Sharon Skyhawk.
School attendance boundary includes students from the Town of Sharon and the surrounding rural community. Traditionally, the school population was a rural farming community. Over the past fifteen years, subdivisions have been built and the rural population has diminished to approximately 20%.
Facilities
Sharon Public School was officially opened in 1858. Extensive additions were added in 1954/1964/1966/2000. In September 2024, a new facility opened on Murrell Blvd to accommodate the growing population in East Gwillimbury, of which Sharon is a part. This new school can accommodate over 600 students.
