Stonebridge Public School has a student population of almost 800 students. We are an Inclusive Design Pilot School. You will see the six threads of Inclusive Design reflected throughout our work and our school to support our most marginalized students.

Through our structures and instruction you will see how we engage student voice, design our instruction to reflect the identities of the students in our school, work to engage parents, families, elders and our community and use our environment as a third teacher. Our staff critically analyze data to support our decisions and are constantly looking for ways to build leaders and leadership capacity.

We have an active student government and class senators that represent our student body. Our Student Government is represented by a Prime Minister, Speaker of the House, Minister of Sport, Indigenous Education, Arts, Languages Innovation, Technology, Mental Health, Environment and Equity. 

We have a whole school focus on answering the question, “Who am I”. Answering this question helps our staff design instruction putting student identity at the centre of instruction and assessment.

We seek to engage parents, families, elders and community by creating opportunities to come together in support of student learning and wellbeing, engaging families in school celebrations and events, and by having our community engage in Town Halls to provide direction for our work informed by our parents and community members.

We see our school as the centre of our community and as a place for the community to come together. We work with our students, staff and community to ask questions about how we look at data to ensure that we are capturing all of the diverse voices and experiences when creating experiences for our students. We see all of our staff as leaders of our students who are the leaders of tomorrow. We critically reflect on how our identity reflects the decisions we make and whose voices are present when making decisions on behalf of the whole school.
