Principal's Message

Trillium Woods P. S. is a K-8 school that opened its doors on September 2, 2003 and celebrated its official opening on April 28, 2004.  Our staff of committed professionals is devoted to the embodiment of the Trillium Woods motto, “Every Child - Every Chance - Every Day”.   The students, parents and staff have created a School Touchstone which not only summarizes our beliefs, but creates a culture and provides us with common language to guide our actions.

Our Touchstone

At Trillium Woods Public School,

We respect ourselves, each other, and our environment.

We are responsible for what we say and do.

We feel safe at our school.

We speak up for ourselves and for others.

We help each other without being asked.

A Trillium Woods, nous respectons la diversite’.

At Trillium Woods, we can succeed!

At Trillium Woods, we strive to advance student achievement and well-being and work to motivate and empower students to become engaged and caring citizens.  Staff and students establish safe, caring, welcoming classroom environments that engage and inspire children to develop to the best of their potential.  We encourage parents, guardians and community members to work with us to set high academic and social expectations for our students.  As the York Region District School Board’s slogan reads, at Trillium Woods Public School, we work to SD-inspirelearningsignature.png

Creating this kind of learning environment requires the cooperation, full attention, and best efforts of students, teachers, parents and community working together.  Our School Council does an exceptional job representing the community, and advocating for each child, from JK to grade 8, when making program recommendations and/or fund-raising decisions.

We are especially proud of the support given to each student by providing differentiated learning opportunities to all, including our English Language Learners and our students with exceptional learning needs.  We engage students through the use of various technologies and our extra-curricular activities offer a wide variety of choice to appeal to the different learners within our community.

We look forward to working with you to achieve the goals of our School Improvement Plan and to create an environment where people of all ages work and grow together and experience the joys of learning.
