History
Walter Scott P.S. is named after Walter Scott, who was a long-serving principal in the Richmond Hill School Board in the 1950s.
Our school motto is "A Place Where Everyone Belongs" and our school mascot is a bumblebee called "The Stinger".
Facilities
Walter Scott P.S. was officially opened in 1956. Additions were built on the original school in 1960 and 1992.
A before and after school program, located at Walter Scott P.S. is provided by the Y.M.C.A. of Greater Toronto. A Community class serving the Richmond Hill area is located in our school and serves the needs of young students with developmental disabilities.
