Principal's Message
Dear families,
We are very excited to be in our seventh year as a school community.  It has been through the outstanding work of the educators in the school and partnerships with the parent and Stouffville community that we have been able to ensure students are receiving an excellent academic experience.  In our classrooms we are constantly investigating the world around us and learning to use our voices to affect positive change.  Tasks are student driven and developed through an inquiry stance while developing essential critical thinking skills. Students are challenged on a daily basis and have numerous opportunities to develop essential learning skills.
Students have access to a wide range of technology in their classrooms that are utilized to further access the curriculum as well as to develop problem solving skills, collaboration and the tools to present their thinking in innovative ways all while being aware of their responsibility to be digital citizens.
At Wendat Village Public School, not only do we strive to increase academic achievement, we believe it is equally important to look at the whole child and ensure we are meeting the needs of all.  This includes addressing the social emotional well-being and investigating the strengths, needs and interests of all students to ensure everyone feels
As a community, we are very proud of and value the diversity that exists within our school.  We learn from each other on a daily basis and in turn further develop understanding, togetherness and a sense of community.
Our school currently holds a GOLD level ECO certification through the Ontario Eco-School program.  Our Eco-Team is made up of staff and students from a variety of grades whose initiatives include educating the community on recycling practices (blue and green bins, litter less lunches), water conservation and outdoor greening.  Wendat Village is also a designated Healthy School where Mental Health and Nutrition are two main areas of focus.
As we move forward, we look to work closely with our community and students to promote a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where well-being and academics are central to our daily practice.
