Westminster Public School strives to promote a school climate
which students, staff, and community members can be proud of. We commit
ourselves to nurturing a learning environment where students feel safe and
included, can engage in critical thinking through rich and authentic tasks, and
where each student can have his or her learning needs met. In
particular, we are working to support improved student achievement and
well-being with an emphasis on supporting students in problem solving, learning
through inquiry, and making connections within and across subject areas.
We also are fortunate to have an active and dedicated School
Council that supports our work in a number of ways. Not only does
the School Council successfully engage in successful fundraising projects, the
School Council also coordinates various community-oriented activities, in the
interest of promoting Westminster P.S. as a hub of the community, and a site of
shared interest among parents, guardians and other stakeholders.
For these reasons, and many more, we are proud
of the students, staff, and community we serve. Throughout the year,
you may have questions or concerns not addressed in these webpages. If you
require additional information, please do not hesitate to call the school
office. We are also constantly updating the EDSBY River
with school announcements.
We encourage home-school communication, and
remind you that you’re always welcome to contact your child’s teacher or a
member of our administrative team at any time during the school year.
