Dear Parents/Guardians and Families,
Welcome to William Armstrong Public School. Our school is an inclusive, engaging and
exciting place to learn, to have fun, and to make friends. The students learn to be healthy, ECO
friendly and be confident in their academic knowledge and learning skills. We
teach and value the principles of having a “Growth Mindset” so that students
are developing resilience and stamina for demonstrating effort and perseverance
in all that they do. Our goal is to build leadership skills in our students and
to have a school culture that promotes collaboration, respectful interactions
and problem solving strategies. Every
child matters!
The staff members at William Armstrong are dedicated to high
expectations for all students and they are invested in every student being successful.
Our team of teachers and support staff work very hard to ensure a supportive,
positive environment within the school. The staff engages in on-going professional
learning and they bring research based strategies to their classrooms for high
impact outcomes. We believe that good
teaching is key to student success.
There are many different
extra-curricular activities available for students to join at the school such
as band, choir, Chess Club, ECO club, Leadership Team, tech team, and a number
of sports teams. Our school is a very
busy place with many opportunities for students to join and participate. We encourage students to become well rounded
in their skills and interests.
Our parents, family members, and community partners are a definite
asset at William Armstrong. There are
many opportunities for family members to be involved, have voice and support the
school. We have many family members who
volunteer, visit for special events and contribute to initiatives that are
happening at the school. We could not do all that we do without this
support! The School Council meets each month and all parents and community members are welcome to attend these
meetings. The home and school partnership is essential
and very beneficial to all our students being successful.
Please contact the school with any questions, concerns or
ideas for improvement. We look forward
to hearing from you.
