Students are expected to demonstrate behaviour that is respectful and courteous at all times. This includes demonstrating respect for each other and our communities. These expectations are indicated in our school’s Code of Conduct.
Windham Ridge Code of Behavior
At Windham Ridge P.S., we believe that sound decision making, effective problem solving, and commitment to the code of behavior will produce a safe and positive learning community.
Students are expected to:
- Respect the rights of all students to learn by listening attentively, doing my best of all times completing assignments and homework, by appreciating other people’s contributions during discussions, attending school regularly and being on time, and being prepared for class.
- Respect self and others by observing the dress code, using language that reflects dignity, telling the truth and assuming responsibility for one’s actions, seeking help for other students who may be in difficulty, and demonstrating empathy and kindness to others.
- Contribute to a safe learning environment by walking and behaving in a responsible manner in the halls and class, reporting potentially dangerous situations, not throwing rocks or snow, adhering to bus rules by remaining seated and following the bus driver’s instructions, and avoiding wrestling, play fighting, pushing and other forms of physically aggressive behaviour.
- Care for the Physical environment by keeping classrooms and school grounds neat and clean, picking up personal belonging , practicing the 3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
- Commit to equity and inclusivity by using inclusive and respectful language, working effectively with everyone, and modeling equity and inclusivity values.
