Alexander Muir Public School operates on a Day 1 to Day 5 Schedule. Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m. A morning entry bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Our instructional time includes 3- 100 minute learning blocks of time. We have one thirty-minute morning recess from 9:40 a.m. until 10:10 a.m. Our lunch hour is from 11:50 a.m. until 12:50 p.m.
Staff Supervision begins at 7:45 a.m. in the mornings. At Alexander Muir, we now have free entry for all students in Kindergarten to grade 8. This means that once the 7:45 bell has rung, students are welcome to enter the school and prepare for the start of the school day. Supervision is now inside the school during this time. All students are expected to enter the school beginning at 7:45 a.m. until the bell at 8:00 a.m. when classes officially begin.
Supervision at the end of the school day is from 2:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. (15 minutes after the dismissal bell). Please be prompt in picking up your child/children. We thank you for your cooperation and support.
