Alternate Ways of Learning 202
Alternate Ways of Learning

There are many opportunities for you to earn secondary school credits outside of the regular day school program.  Registration for these courses requires approval from your guidance counsellor:

Aquatic Leadership Program

This program uses a blended learning format consisting of pool instruction, face-to-face instruction in class and on-line learning.  It is offered in partnership between the Continuing Education, York Region District School Board and the City of Markham, Vaughan or Aurora.  Upon completion, successful students may earn the following courses and certifications.

Students earn up to 7 credits towards their OSSD, become a certified Personal Support Worker (PSW), and gain employment in the health care field. The PSW program is taught by: teachers, registered nurses, physiotherapists, allied health professionals, and social workers.

You can earn credits in a smaller class environment with personalized timetables and alternative learning approaches to meet your individual needs.

Music Certificates Accepted For Credit
Students who are working towards their OSSD are able to use specified music certificates towards credits. For more information about the certificate requirements, please contact the Guidance Department.

If you have any questions, please book an appointment to speak to your guidance counsellor.
