Safe and Supportive Schools/Equitable and Inclusive Education
Regardless of abiltity, race, culture, language, sexual orientation or identity; every Black River student has the right to learn in a caring, safe and supportive environment. The York Region District School Board has a Caring and Safe Schools Policy and a defined procedure to implement the policy. Both the policy and procedure support the view that student discipline involves a continuum of support including prevention, intervention and appropriate consequences.  The YRDSB remains committed to the inclusion of anti-racist and equity education in its policies and programs.

In addition, as a school community, we at Black River P.S. support our board's mission and vision and advance our goal to foster and develop within our students the YRDSB's values:
Inclusivity, Relationships, Innovation, Engagement, Resposibilty and Optimism
