Welcome to Blue Willow - we are committed to helping your child succeed

Blue Willow is strongly committed to developing our literacy and mathematics programming and a culture of mutual respect.  Weaving reading, writing and critical thinking into all aspects of the program is one of the ways we are maximizing opportunities for students to hone their comprehension and writing skills.  In addition, we are striving to make connections to broad societal and global issues.  By helping children to see the connections between what they are learning and the world around them, we hope to stimulate curiosity, critical thinking and a passion for learning.  Using classroom assessment and our most recent EQAO results, we continue to be able to design program plans that are tailored to meet the needs of our kids.

We encourage you to look for ways at home where you can provide your child with opportunities to expand their horizons (e.g., talking about world issues, items in the news, history, etc.).  Using the internet and trips to the local library are some of the ways students can investigate things in which they are interested.

We shall continue to work hard to ensure that our partnership with parents/guardians remain strong and meaningful.  Parents/Guardians are encouraged to support their child's education by getting involved in the life of the school by joining one of our committees, volunteering and/or providing input into decision-making through our School Council.   Contact the office if you would like more information about how you can get involved in the school community.
