We are not only a ‘small but mighty’ school, but we are also a school that believes in ‘making a difference’ whether it is right here in our own building, in our neighbourhood or in the world community.
As a staff we are working towards continuous school improvement with a focus on the Board’s priorities of literacy, numeracy, equity, environmental stewardship and engagement for all learners. These efforts, in collaboration with parents, are focused on improved student achievement and well-being for all.
Our dedicated staff provides a wide range of activities to help engage our students in an active and healthy lifestyle. If your child has a specific interest in Athletics, the Arts, or Leadership, Deer Park P.S. staff will help your child to participate fully and take advantage of learning opportunities.
Community, or a sense of belonging, is important for all. As new people move in and longtime residents move out it is important to recognize that our community is changing. With this in mind, we need to share the many common bonds that link us. One of these bonds must include respecting the people that lived here in the past, and the people that will join our community in the future. We need to recognize that our school, which is located on the traditional territory of the Williams Treaty Peoples and includes the Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation, the Chippewas of Georgina Island as well as other Anishnaabe who travelled these lands, is working hard to embrace the values of inclusivity, relationships, innovation, engagement, responsibility and optimism, in an effort to build a healthy and diverse community.
