School Improvement Plan
Devins Drive P.S. is committed to supporting the Board's literacy focus under the three Board focus areas of Quality Schools, Building Family and Community Capacity and Quality Workplaces

The following is an outline of our school's Plan for Continuous Improvement including highlights of some of the strategies to support student achievement.

Our School's Plan for Continuous Improvement is focussed on the following areas:

  • Curriculum Implementation: A focus on a balanced literacy program. Students will further develop reading and writing strategies to enhance their understanding. Students will demonstrate proficiency in reading a variety of genres. Students will demonstrate more positive attitudes to reading. Students will improve writing across the curriculum including mathematical literacy.

  • Parental and Community Involvement: A focus on parents as partners to improve student achievement using approaches gained from Character Matters initiative. Further develop our students' means of communicating to home how they are taking responsibility for their actions at school. Continue to build on our means of communicating to parents curriculum expectations and their role as partners in supporting their child's learning.

  • Effective Schools: A focus on further building a supportive and inviting school climate. Students will act in accordance with the School Code of Conduct. Students will demonstrate respect and empathy. Staff and students will promote school spirit in a respectful work place.

Recognizing Our Student Improvement 
Student improvement and achievement are recognized in many ways. Some of these ways include: graduation awards and subject awards.​
