The Dr. G. W. Williams Student Council
The Williams' Students' Council is a group that represents the student body at Williams. We have been hard at work uplifting the many clubs at this school to ensure that they can meet the needs of our student body and hold fun-filled events that are accessible to all students. We also run spirit days to bolster the Wildcat spirit at our school. We work directly with the administrative team to give all students a voice!
If you want to sit in on a Student Council meeting and give us your input, they are held every Wednesday before school in the Library Seminar Room. Everyone's welcome and we'd love to have you there!

The Dr. G. W. Williams PALs (previously Peer Mentors)
As a group, we are responsible for creating a smooth transition for new students from our elementary partners to high school. We support grade nine students by running events and activities throughout the year. We provide continuous communication between grade nine students and mentors.
Our program is multi-faceted, and dynamic in nature. Our year-long program begins on day one of school, as each new student is assigned a mentor, and in groups learn to develop new relationships, and become positive contributing members. The PALs group is quite varied, ranging from anti-bullying workshops, exam preparation, and team-building and co-operative activities, all designed to encourage students to achieve their potential.
Our PALs continue to be recognized for their excellence, and pursue new opportunities. In 2010, our group received the Louise Russo Group Leadership Award, recognizing our efforts in fostering a safe and supportive school community. Our numerous charitable endeavours, most recently with Right to Play, have been recognized both in print and electronic form. PALs have been recognized by the Celebrating Student Success campaign, as well as the Character Community Foundation. They have been appointed to the Minister’s Student Advisory Council, and sat on the Aurora Town Council.

Your Student Trustees
Student Trustees act as a liaison between the school community and the Board. Each year they are chosen by members of the York Region Presidents’ Council, a body consisting of all Student Council Presidents in York Region public secondary schools. The main objective of the Student Trustees is to give the student population a meaningful voice in Board deliberations and to act as a conduit for the flow of information and ideas between trustees, senior staff, and the student body.
