As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Greensborough P.S. supports student learning through the curriculum standards set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education and many other co-curricular activities. The school promotes a safe and supportive learning environment. This is done through the Board’s Safe Schools Policy and Procedures, Character Education and Living School Initiatives. Our MLL/ELD students are also supported by staff, (i.e. Intensive Support, Tutorial Support and Integrated Classroom models) as they develop facility in English.
We are very proud to offer the following programs to our students:

Safe and Supportive Schools/Character Education/Equity Education
Every student has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. The York Region District School Board has a Safe Schools Policy and a defined procedure to implement the policy. Both the policy and procedure support the view that student discipline involves a continuum of support including prevention, intervention and appropriate consequences.
Greensborough PS also supports the Board’s ‘Character Matters’ initiative. We nurture the spirit of our school community through the many ‘Character Matters’ events and extra-curricular activities. These activities are embedded in and permeate our curriculum.
The diversity within our school and community is our greatest strength. We support all members of the Greensborough family with respect, equity and inclusive practices. We implement the ideals and policies outlined in the Board’s Anti-Racist/Ethno-Cultural Equity policy. The school’s staff integrates anti-racist/equity learning into regular programming in an attempt to create this inclusive and supportive school environment.
