Dear Families:
Welcome to the 2019 - 20 school year. We are looking forward
to a great year. We hope that you and your children have had a wonderful and
restful summer. We would also like to welcome to KPS our new students, new
staff and say welcome back to our returning students, staff and parents/guardians
and wish everyone a successful first term.
Our Kleinburg P.S. staff has worked hard to prepare for
this school year. Our teachers have set up beautiful classrooms. Our caretaking
staff has made sure that every inch of the building is clean and safe. Our
office staff has worked long hours to ensure a smooth start of school. Hats off
to everyone!
As a school community, we are committed to student
achievement and well being through intentional and focused instruction for each
student. We will work together to continue to build a safe, supportive and
inclusive school climate. We know that when parents, teachers and students view
one another as partners in education, a caring community is formed and student
learning is supported.
As we start a new year, it will be the responsibility of
all of us to contribute to the building of a positive, inclusive community. We
will continue to teach students about good character as we continue to focus on
monthly character traits. The character trait for September is RESPECT. Parents can help support our
character focus by discussing ways students can be respectful both at home and
at school. We will continue to work on minimizing our environmental footprint.
We will be continuing our composting of food scraps through the green bin
collection. We are also committed to litter-less lunches by packing snacks and
lunches in reusable containers.
We have a very busy
parking lot and driveway during the arrival and dismissal times. We encourage
those children who are eligible to ride the bus to please do so and those who
live close, to walk to school as this will help alleviate some of the
congestion. Ensuring our children are safe is a
top priority.
Wishing you a very successful school year!
Sincerely,
Greg
