At Lake Wilcox P.S. all staff efforts are intentionally focused on developing student achievement and well-being to the highest possible level. This is done through a variety of approaches: Reading Recovery for Grade 1 students at risk; Modern Learning Reps, borrow-a-book program; parent reading volunteers; technology; tutors in the classroom, 100 minute literacy blocks and 60 minute math blocks daily in all grades, intramural activities, student leadership opportunities, explicit teaching of social skills, and intentional and focused instruction based on data analysis.
