Welcome to the Maple Creek P. S. community. Maple Creek P. S is a thriving school that offers many academic, social and emotional growth opportunities for all its students. As with each school in the York Region District School Board, Maple Creek P. S supports student learning through the curriculum expectations set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education and many other co-curricular activities. Maple Creek P. S promotes a safe and supportive learning environment. This is done through the Board’s Safe Schools Policy and Procedures and the Character Education Initiatives. We are very proud to offer the following programs to our students: Anti-Bully Programs, guest speakers and workshops, ongoing social skills support, a Progressive Discipline Model, Student Leadership Program and the York Region Police Department VIP Program. As part of our Character Education Initiatives we have monthly Good News Assemblies that recognize each of the Board’s Character Traits. Monthly certificates are given to students who consistently demonstrate the Character Traits and often we have guest performances and speakers who promote Character Education.
Maple Creek P. S is proud of all its students. We make every effort to recognize achievement including: reporting on achievement and learning skills, through our morning announcements and school awards. Student Leadership is the foundation of all school initiatives that benefit our student population and community. Maple Creek P. S is proud to support the following student-lead initiatives: Annual Food Drive, School Store Supervisors, Milk Program Team, Extra-curricular Sports Teams, Me to We Club, Yearbook Team, Positive Climate for Learning Team and our Eco Team.
Maple Creek P. S is also proud of its community involvement. The following community agencies serve our school and its community: Big Brother/ Big Sisters, CAYRE, Children’s Aid Society, Early Intervention Services, Vaughan Fire Department, Maple Community Centre, Maple Public Library, York Regional Police, AOK Early Years Program, Families and Schools Together Program. We have partnered with many community partners to promote awareness and support for charitable organizations such as Vaughan Food Bank, Me to We organization and the Terry Fox Foundation. We also issue a number of permits for after school use of Maple Creek P. S.
